Since its inception in 1935 by Meyer Aaron and Irving B. Ruben, ARN Funeral & Cremation Services has played a pivotal role in serving the Indianapolis community, particularly catering to the needs of the Jewish population. The founders recognized the necessity of providing a dedicated funeral service that respected and adhered to Jewish funeral traditions, which, until then, were primarily managed by local religious organizations such as Lindath Hazedeck. Initially operating from a modest facility within the grounds of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation’s southside cemetery, the establishment was a response to the growing demand for specialized funeral services that honored Jewish customs and rites. This need was further amplified by changes in laws related to funeral services and burials, underscoring the importance of a dedicated space for ceremonies and the expertise of professionals familiar with Jewish traditions.

Over the years, the funeral home has evolved in response to the community's changing needs, expanding its services while maintaining a deep respect for the customs and beliefs of the families it serves. This evolution has included the introduction of modern facilities and the adoption of contemporary funeral practices, all while preserving the essence of Jewish funeral traditions. The dedication to providing compassionate and personalized care is a testament to the founders' vision, ensuring that the legacy of respect and dignity for the deceased and their families is upheld. The commitment to serving the Jewish community has remained steadfast, with the funeral home continually adapting to provide meaningful and respectful services that honor the lives and beliefs of those who have passed away.

In keeping with its tradition of excellence and its foundational principles, the funeral home remains a pillar of support for families during their most challenging times. Offering a blend of traditional and modern services, it ensures that each ceremony is conducted with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and attention to detail. For those in need of guidance or support in planning a service that truly reflects the wishes of their loved ones and honors their heritage, the team is always ready to assist.
