Virginia Elizabeth Reiberg, 102, of Indianapolis, died on September 4, 2023. She was born in Chicago, IL to the late Max and Elizabeth Reiberg on August 7, 1921. Virginia earned a Master’s degree and spent her career in the employ of the State of Michigan as a social worker. She reveled in creating a beautiful environment in which to live by painting the walls and furniture in her home with cheerful and colorful artistic decoration.
She loved nature and enjoyed the lake with swans and ducks when she lived at American Village Retirement Center in Indianapolis during the last decades of her life. She had a great love for reading and for listening to music, activities she maintained even during the years when she was living with Alzheimer’s disease.
She is survived by her nephew, Robert (Sandra) Reiberg; and nieces, Judith (George Diggle) Reiberg, Dorothy (Donald Brooks) Reiberg, and Pamela Reiberg Knox (James Knox, deceased). Also surviving are great-niece and great-nephew, Julia Reiberg O’Hara (Daniel) and Eric Reiberg, and their children Lucas and Leo Reiberg and Henry and Nellie O’Hara.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Rufus Reiberg and Dale Reiberg; and sisters-in-law, Louise Reiberg and Mildred Reiberg.
