Ronald Allen Just

64, of Indianapolis, passed away December 6, 2019. He was born on February 17, 1955 in Fort Wayne, IN to Herbert and Mary Lou (Vietmeier) Just. Ronald grew up in Fort Wayne where he graduated from Northrop High School. An avid Purdue fan, he later attended Purdue University where he studied Mechanical Engineering.

Ronald’s passion for race cars and automobiles began at a young age and grew in his teenage years. As a young adult, he began his professional career working for Navistar where he could combine his education and passion. Ronald would spend his free time attending races at the Indianapolis Speedway. His love of racing followed him throughout his life.

Ron was well known for his many projects and could always be found tinkering or working on something new. He proudly built his sons a custom jungle gym at their childhood home, a dog house for his Siberian Husky (complete with shingles and siding), customized all of his cars throughout his life, and curated his extensive diecast car collection in a custom display case.

He is survived by his two sons, Cory (Vanessa) Just of Indianapolis, IN, and Kyle (Michelle) Just of Tiverton, RI; brother, Steve (Anne) Just of Naperville, IL; granddaughter, Madison Just of Indianapolis, IN; and his two nephews Brexton and Riley Just of Naperville, IL. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Just, stepmother, Helen Just, father, Herbert Just and nephews Martin and Kiefer Just.

Prior to his passing, Ronald was preparing his home for a new four legged companion, and had championed the Humane Society throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis. (www.indyhumane.org)
