Loraine Tatum

Loraine Tatum, 85 of Plainfield, passed away May 5th, 2023. A lifelong Hoosier, she was born in Indianapolis on November 10th, 1937, to the late Boyd Foster Tatum and Stella R. (Jablonski) Tatum. After graduating from Ben Davis High School, Loraine went to work for and retired from Merchants National Bank (now PNC).

Loraine was a lifelong member of St. Susanna Church and a Godmother to her niece, Teri.  Loraine had a love and passion for all animals especially horses and cats. She was an avid gardener and had a love of being outdoors. She was a Colts, Pacers and Indy 500 fan and loved attending events with her partner of 62 years William (Bill) Gordon. You could always find Loraine hunting for treasures at flea markets and garage sales.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia "Pat" McDonald and Stella Mae Haskins; her lifelong partner of 62 years, William "Bill" Gordon; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Hannah. Loraine was preceded in death by her siblings, Katherine Gorman and Frank "Frankie" Tatum.

Services will be held privately. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hendricks County Humane Society in Danville Indiana.

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
