Lenard Hinds Wolfson

Lenard H. Wolfson, 82, of Carmel, IN, passed away on April 7, 2023.  He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 19, 1940, to Max and Ida Wolfson.  Lenard graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1958 and later earned a degree in Architecture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

After graduation, Lenard moved to Indianapolis where along with his partner of 50 years, he started and developed a successful design firm, Wolfson Young Corporation.

Lenard was a devoted husband to his wife Barbara for 54 years and father to his 3 children.  Lenard, known as the “Big Z” was adored by his many grandchildren.  His first priority was always his family.  He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, patience, wisdom, and intellect.  In the words of his business partner, “Lenard had a wonderful spirit and cared about everyone.”   His smile lit up the room and will be missed deeply.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; son, Phillip (Adrienne) Frank, daughters, Clair (Brian) Jacobson, Lainie (Steve) Hurwitz, and his grandchildren, Ellen, Jackson, Max, Isaac, Ethan, Cate, Rachel, and Molly, and by his cherished siblings, Jay Wolfson, and Deena Wolfson.

A funeral service will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville Indiana 46077, on April 10, 2023, at 1:00 pm, with graveside services to follow at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation North Cemetery.  Friends may view the funeral via live stream by clicking here.
