Jerry Allen Zook, 79, Indianapolis, passed away on May 2, 2023. He was comforted in his last days at home by family and loved ones.
A lifelong resident of the Castleton area, he was born July 3, 1943 in Noblesville to Blaine and Wilda (Whitesell) Zook. After graduating from Wabash College, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he advanced to the rank of 1st Lt. and served in the Army Intelligence Unit in Vietnam.
He was a partner in Fountain-Zook Builders Inc., where he spent much of his life building houses in the Geist area. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and playing board games.
Jerry married the love of his life, Carolyn (Cash) in October 2007. She survives. They spent many years traveling the country and enjoying life, family and friends together.
Jerry lived a life of strong Christian faith and devotion to his friends and family. Surviving in addition to his wife is a brother, Tim Zook, Coverdale; a stepdaughter, Christina (Scott) Cash Meyers, Fishers; a stepson, Dr. Michael Cash, Nashville; and beloved grandchildren, Sydney Meyers, Gavin (Kaylee) Meyers, Ella Meyers, Emaline Cash, and Annalise Cash.
He also played a significant role in the lives of his many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews as “Uncle Jerry.”
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eda (Zook) Fountain; and a brother, Claude Zook.
Services will be held Saturday, May 13 at Castleton United Methodist Church, where he was a life-long member. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m.
