James William Manston

James William Manston, born in Barnesville, MN passed away November 4, 2022 at the age of 89 years in Zionsville, Indiana. He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Judyth Manston; children, Sarah Krueger of Raleigh, NC, James Manston of Brighton, MI, and Daniel Manston of Carmel, IN; and grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Aryn, Kyle, James, and Jonathan; and sister, Marjorie Swegels. He was predeceased by his parents, Emma and William Manston; sister, Joan Luther; and brother, Robert Manston.

After enlisting in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War, Jim attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Dow Chemical and Dow Elanco, where he had the opportunity to raise his family in Midland, MI, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indianapolis, IN.

Jim and Judy retired to the Hendersonville, NC for twenty five years before recently returning to Indianapolis.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, farmer, baseball coach, Sunday school teacher, Scout leader, marine, world traveler, golfer, tennis player, fisherman, handy man; an inspiration to many and will be missed by all.
