In Loving Memory of Our Father
Mr. Huan Nguyen was born in 1930, in Nam Dinh, Vietnam. His first career was a prestigious captain of a merchant ship. He wanted to spend more time with his family so he became a successful businessman including import/export and owned an appliance store.

He worked tirelessly in various jobs to support his family; working in grocery stores, restaurants, and as a baker at Meridian Hills Country Club until he retired in 1995. His love and dedication to family was boundless. He instilled in his children the value and achievement through education and hard work.
He was also known for his inquisitive, diligent, generous spirit, and was proud of his heritage. He served as a leader in several organizations to support immigrants of the Vietnamese community in assimilating into their new life in the United States. His legacy includes in instrumental role, through relentless fundraising and the acquisition of land, in the establishment of An Lac temple, the first Vietnamese Buddhist Temple in Indianapolis.
