Charles Edgar Mullinax,
83 of Carmel, IN, passed away on December 19, 2020. He was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on August 25, 1937 to Keith and Maude Mullinax. Charles grew up just north of Mount Vernon, married Linda Tolley and then moved to Granite City, IL, to work in the steel mills and start a family. Later, he worked for Ford Motor and eventually transferred to Chicago in 1972. He retired to Indianapolis in 1998. Charles was a long-time member at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Carmel.
Charles loved his family, treasured dining out with those close to him, and kept his faith even when health challenges seemed overwhelming. Eventually, old age conspired to take him away from those he loved so much. He passed in his sleep at his home with his extended family surrounding him.
He is survived by sons, Charles Dean and Brian (Laura) Mullinax; grandchildren, Douglas Mullinax, Madison Wilson, and Nicole Katt; great-grandchildren, Alexander Katt, Olivia Katt, Karma Wilson, and Hattie Wilson; and siblings, one brother and one sister.
Donations in Charles's memory may be sent to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
Arrangements entrusted to A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services. Friends may leave a memory or message of condolence by visiting the online obituary at www.arnmortuary.com.
