Chaitanya Dave

December 24, 1955 — February 5, 2024

Indianapolis

Chaitanya was born and raised in Pune, India. He graduated from the Bishop High School, received a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Ferguson College, and then completed his MBA in Nasik from University of Pune.  Chaitanya moved to Mumbai after graduation to begin his career. He came to America at the age of 28 and moved to Los Angeles, California where his middle sister lived. A few years after having his daughter he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he lived for the last 29 years.

Chaitanya had a vibrantly diverse career spanning industries, countries, and disciplines. He started his business career at Si Com in Mumbai, India, and went on to work with his brother-in-law at his chemical company, Surfin, after moving to America. From there, he launched his American career journey doing everything from delivering pizza to managing multiple departments as a vice president. He worked for Numero Uno, Taco Bell corporate, and RCI. He closed out his business career traveling the world as a venture capitalist.

Chaitanya was a devoutly spiritual man who believed in all gods. He felt particularly devoted to Ganesha, Shiva, Shirdi Sai Baba, and the Catholic faith.

Guided to embrace his spiritual passions and psychic gifts, Chaitanya began working at New Age People as a psychic, reiki healer, and meditation coach. He was able to help countless people in this phase of his career and make incredible friends.

Chaitanya loved to travel and was fascinated by all aspects of transportation. He loved hotels and used to stay in the same suite at the LAX Hilton so he could watch the planes take off and land.

Like his late mother, Rekha Dave, Chaitanya had a love of cooking and food. His favorite foods included puttanesca, Italian meatballs, dal bhaat, tom kha gai, and Indian ginger tea.

He was a true conversationalist and loved to host and spend time with his many dear friends.

Chaitanya Dave was a good man, a loving father, brother, son, uncle, and friend to many.  He will be deeply missed by all who loved and respected him.  He is survived by his daughter, Nehali (Connor Trexler); sisters, Jayashree Yadov, and Amita Dave and nephews, Maurya Dave, Aditya Dave, and Amal Yadav and his many friends he thought of as extended family.
