Ton Dinh Nguyen

Ton Dinh Nguyen - A Devoted Buddhist, and a man with a kind heart - left this world on July 9, 2025 to join his wife who left almost a year ago. Ton visited this earthy world for 91 years. On this earth, he was the most beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Tôn was born May 15, 1936 in Làng Thạch Giáng, Tỉnh Quảng Nam, Việt Nam to Nguyễn Đình Đối and Nguyễn Thị Hiến. Tôn held a Bachelor of Art in Buddhist Study from Đại Học Vạn Hạnh in Saigon Vietnam, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rose Hulman in Terre Haute Indiana. Ton proudly served the Army of the Republic of Vietnam as an officer, and worked as an Electrical Engineer for Public Services of Indiana. Most importantly, he was the father figure that inspired in his children not only the passion for learning, but also the loving kindness for fellow human beings.

Tôn is survived by seven children, their spouses, thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. His children include Terry Nguyen, Thac (Loan) Nguyen, Thai (Quynh) Nguyen, Thao (Hung) Thai, Thuan Nguyen, Hue (Hoang) Vo, and Kim (Greg) Brenton. His grandchildren are Vy. (Sally) Nguyen, An Nguyen, Thanh Tam (Mohammad) Alshuraidi, Thomas (Rhya) Nguyen, Linda Nguyen, Vinh (Chloe) Thai, Hieu Thai, Tiffany Vu, Dillan Vu, Alina Vo, Vivian Vo, Charlotte Brenton, James Brenton and his six great-grandchildren: Oliver Thai, Willow Thai, Jad Alshuraidi, Mai Alshuraidi, Rose Nguyen, Madeline Nguyen, Julian Nguyen, and Calvin Nguyen.

Tôn was preceded in death by his parents, Nguyễn Đinh Đối and Nguyễn Thị Hiến, and by his lifelong partner Lại Thị Xuân.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 14, from 8 AM to 10 AM at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson (ARN), 11411 N. Michigan Rd, Zionsville 46077, with Buddhist prayers at 9 AM, followed by the cremation at 12:00Noon at the same location.
