Todd Brian Tompkins

Todd Brian Tompkins, 50, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away on Thursday December 28, 2023 in Carmel, Indiana.  He was surrounded by his loving wife, Lori Tompkins; his parents, Merle and Marilyn Tompkins; his son, Blake Tompkins; his sister, Jill Persinger; his mother-in-law, Susan Koerner; and many other family members on the day of his passing.  Todd was able to give the gift of life through organ donation.

Todd was born to Merle and Marilyn Tompkins on August 14, 1973 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He spent his formative years in Cumberland, Indiana.  He had a love for baseball, where he excelled as a pitcher in Little League.  He was active in the band during his school years, playing all forms of percussion.  He had a very close extended family unit and enjoyed spending time with all of his cousins.

Todd attended Ivy Tech Community College where he received a degree in Computer Information Systems.  He loved all things computer and spent 25+ years in various IT rolls throughout his career.  In 2022, Todd found his dream job with V2X as a programmer.  The big smile on his face said it all when he started this job.

Todd met his wife Lori when they both worked at St Vincent Hospital in 1998.  They were married in July 2000 and settled in Noblesville, Indiana.  They enjoyed a happy life with their son Blake and pack of Labrador Retrievers.  They enjoyed travelling together, including visits to Hawaii, Mexico and the Mediterranean.

Todd loved all animals but had a special place in his heart for his dogs.  Todd and Lori got involved with Labrador Retriever rescue through fostering and adopted 2 pups over the years.  He had a very special bond with his rescue pup Princess.

Todd continued to enjoy music as he got older.  He was a drummer in a band in the early 2000’s and later in life had a love for everything music.  He spent hours learning to play both electric, acoustic and bass guitars.  He would love to play for his family.  Todd and Lori settled into country life in 2014.  They were living their dream at their mini farm with dogs, chickens and a big vegetable garden.

Todd is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Lori Tompkins; his devoted son, Blake Tompkins; his parents, Merle and Marilyn Tompkins; his sister, Jill Persinger; 2 nieces and a nephew; as well as his mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law.  He was devoted to his family and would do anything for them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main St, Carmel, IN on January 20, 2024.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am – 10:30 am with service to follow at 11:00 am.
