Taylor Elizabeth-Ann Nail

February 8, 1995 — February 4, 2024

Taylor Elizabeth-Ann Nail, beloved daughter, granddaughter, and friend passed away February 4, 2024. She was born on February 8, 1995, in Indianapolis to her adoring mother, Jamie M. Nail.

As a child, Taylor loved to be outside in nature and spent much of her time in her grandmother's perfectly kept garden playing with her childhood dogs Izzy and beloved Peanut, and cats, Shadow and Delilah. When she was 10 years old, she began horseback riding lessons at Canterbury Manor Stables in Zionsville, where she met many lifelong friends. Her love of horses continued through the years, and she would go out to the barn several times a year just to “hack around”.

Taylor attended North Central High School and later went on to further her education at Ivy Tech. She worked several jobs over the years, but most recently joined the team at Red’s Barber Shop, on Washington Street, downtown Indianapolis. She loved the supportive community and upbeat environment at Red’s and was looking forward to growing in her career.

She loved caring for her grandmother and mom, cooking meals, writing sweet letters, and making homemade gifts for them. She always had gifts in hand for those she loved when she arrived at a gathering, and her ability to make you feel ‘seen’ in a crowded room was a gift alone to those who received it. Taylor loved her girl’s trips, with friends and family alike and was always first to bring out the coloring books and snacks on a road trip.

Affectionately known as “Tay”, she was the brightest of lights to all who were blessed to know her. She was known for her displays of kindness to strangers and would always give of herself, even when she had nothing to give. She maintained a smile, even when times were dark, and she never lost hope of a better tomorrow.

Taylor was currently living at the SIS house. She had found her community, a vast loving support system of women who were on a similar path to hers. She was so grateful to all the women who loved and supported her. Her sponsor, Jenny P., whom Taylor absolutely adored, was also instrumental in guiding Tay on her path to achieving her potential and discovering all she wanted to be and have in life.

Tay had been working hard to grow in her spirituality and find meaning in each day. She was excited to have finally met the love of her life, Adam, and they were looking forward to building a family and future together.

Taylor is survived by her mother, Jamie Nail; grandmother, Annie Aldrich; aunt and uncle, John and Kelly Nail; cousins, Connor and Caitlyn Nail; boyfriend, Adam; “The Girls”, Samantha Barnett and Zoe Norris; and grandfather, John Nail.

She is preceded in passing by her uncle, Chris Nail.
