Sulan Yee

Sulan Yee, born on June 19, 1946, passed away on June 17, 2024. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Manila, Philippines to the late Caiji Hi and Pat Hi.

Since immigrating to the United States, Sulan had a variety of jobs starting as a bank teller when she first arrived. She moved on to various accounting positions for many years at Indiana Gas Company and often worked at the former L S Ayres at Lafayette Square as she had a flair for retail. She later became an auditor at Hyatt Regency Hotel then slowed down and worked retail to keep herself busy after retirement.

Sulan loved to travel, especially with her sister, Monica, and nephew and family, Gregory, Jane and Jan Mack. They went to England, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, and Aruba and had memorable trips to San Francisco, Chicago and other cities. She loved to shop and was excellent at retail sales, even though it was never her primary job. She had a great flair, especially for coordinating men's dress clothes, just the right shirt and tie with a suit that would make a statement. She loved taking care of her house plants and caring for perennials, especially lilies, in the summer.

Sulan is survived by a large family, including her sister Jean (Gonzalo), Nieces: Margaret (Edgar), Anita, Sandra and Patty, Nephews: Mason (Teresita), Richard (Therese) and Gregory (Jane) as well as great nieces and nephews: Marites, Bryant, Michaela, Aidan, Finlay, Jan, Catherine, Abigail, and Emily. 

Sulan and her family were members of the St Monica Catholic Church for many years. In her honor there will be a memorial service and visitation on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, on what would have been her 78th birthday. Visitation will be from 2-3:00 pm, with Father Jack Wright officiating at a memorial mass at 3:00pm at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home, 11411 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077.
