Steve Rubenstein 71, of Fishers, Indiana passed away January 14, 2024. He was born July 31, 1952, to Alan and Sally Rubenstein.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn; siblings, Jerry Rubenstein (Pam) and Robin Weiss (Rick); nephews, Joe (Jen) and Alan (Roxanne) Rubenstein; nieces, Haley and Alayna Weiss; great-niece, Maggie Rubenstein; great-nephew, Alex Rubenstein (Maury); two great-grandnephews; and his four-legged companions, Buttercup and Ellie.
Steve graduated from North Central High School and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married Carolyn Wilson on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1983.
After his service in the Air Force, he went to work with his father at Allan’s Jewelry & Loan in Anderson, IN and subsequently became an owner and partner with his brother and best friend Jerry. He made friends with many of his customers and had a knack for making connections with people from all walks of life.
Steve had an abundant lust for life and was willing to try just about anything, including flying lessons. He loved flying, but not the landing part. He had many interests and enjoyed playing billiards, darts, ping pong, golf, and bowling. He loved playing the slots and Texas Hold ‘Em and often came out a winner.
Steve befriended everyone and will be greatly missed.
Services for Steve will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Rd, on Sunday, January 21st, 2024 at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to the Hamilton County Humane Society in Steve's memory.
