Stephen M. Coning

Stephen M. Coning, 76 passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Steve was born January 6, 1948, in Richmond, IN. He spent his formative years on his family’s dairy farm in Boston, IN. He went on to be known as Dan Stevens, a radio personality for major market radio stations such as WIRE, WIBC, and WTPI throughout his career.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, farming, and helping others. He was always eager to include his children in his radio programming and events. He enjoyed helping his grandchildren with 4-H projects, caring for animals, and driving.

He is survived by his mother Jennifer Reed of Connersville, IN; children Seth Coning (Heather) of Bainbridge, IN and Hope Brown (John) of Rushville, IN; grandchildren Kai, Addison, Bryer, Landon, Caylub, Addilyn, Mandi (John), Gracie (David), Caleb, Ellie, and Koleton; and great- grandchildren Jaiden, Levi, Isaiah, Addie, Gavin, Andrew, and Bradley; Siblings Rita Cole, Kim Wright, Tammy Jones, and Denny Reed as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Woodrow and Elizabeth Coning, his sister Marsha Clark, and his son Stephen T. Coning.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a date to be determined.
