Born on October 21, 1919, in the vibrant city of St. Louis, Shirley's life spanned over a century, encompassing a rich tapestry of experiences, relationships, and passions that reflected her unwavering spirit and dedication to family and community.
Shirley's legacy is steeped in her profound commitment to her faith and the multiple organizations she steadfastly supported. A past member of B'nai Torah and Beth-El Zedeck, her unwavering involvement in these congregations showcased her devotion and her desire to foster community connections. As a co-founder of B'nai Torah's gift shop, Shirley was instrumental in promoting spiritual and social engagement among her fellow congregants.
Beyond her congregational contributions, Shirley was a proud member of Hadassah, an organization devoted to advancing health and education in Israel and the American Jewish community. A dedicated participant in the Hooverwood Guild and the City of Hope, her altruism resonated through her numerous endeavors, reflecting her compassion and commitment to enriching the lives of others.
Surrounding Shirley's legacy is her loving family, whose presence was a source of immense joy and pride. Her children survive her: Joseph (Alice) Goldfarb, Elaine (Arnold) Rubenstein, and Benjamin (Deborah) Goldfarb, who carry forward the values instilled in them by their beloved mother. The warmth of Shirley's love extends to her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom treasure the laughter, guidance, and memories shared with her.

Graveside services will be held at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery, 9938 Eller Road, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 11:00 am.
