Sheila Ann Levinson Patsiner

Sheila Ann Levinson Patsiner, known to her family and friends as Sheila, Mom, Aunt Sheila, Mom Sheila, and Nana, died of natural causes on June 26 at the age of 90. After graduating from Shortridge High School in 1953, she attended Indiana University.

Sheila met her ex-husband, Jerry, from New York, while he was stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison. They married in May 1956 and had three children; pre-deceased by Stephanie, and survived by Jodi, and Marc.

Sheila enjoyed being a career woman from the time she was married. At the March of Dimes, she successfully planned the first walk-a-thon fundraiser for the organization. In the 1960s and 1970s, she was proud of her political campaign involvement with mayors Lugar and Hudnut. Always looking for ways to improve things, Sheila organized the neighborhood and lobbied successfully for a needed stoplight at the intersection of 73rd and Hoover Road.

She was a secretary for two decades with various companies and created her own temporary employment agency in the Cleveland area. Notably, she won the contract to clean the Cleveland Browns' stadium after their games.

Her favorite work was being a house mother at Purdue Bradley, and Butler universities. Her organization skills proved to be too much for some as she always insisted on the right thing being done for her guys and girls, the students. She ran a tight ship and one full of love and making sure life was fun. The Greek events which included her always made her feel young, especially anytime there was a chance to dance. In her later life, Sheila continued to follow the Boilermakers win at bingo, and enjoy live music performances.

She is also survived by her brother, Sandy Levinson (pre-deceased Elaine); neice Sherri Klain (David); nephew Scott Levinson(Sarah Burker); grand-nephews Brady(Gracie Held) and Mason Klain(Jen Kaufman); and wonderful  friends, many of whom included her as part of their own family.

Sheila's favorite charity was St. Jude's Children Hospital, if you would like to make a donation in her memory.

A non-religious celebration service will be held Sunday, June 28 at 10:30a.m. followed by the only reception to socialize with family and friends at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home. Please feel free to dress what ever is comfortable for you.
