Sharyn Ann Bonner

May 3, 1944 — June 18, 2025

Lebanon

Sharyn Ann (Evans) Bonner, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, mother, nurse, Nana to all and friend, graced the world with her presence from May 3, 1944, until her passing on June 18, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in the small town of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Sharyn's life journey would lead her to become a dedicated labor and delivery nurse at Wishard Memorial Hospital for two decades, helping to bring thousands of babies into the world, followed by four years as a dialysis nurse at Fresenius Kidney Center. She retired in 2008, leaving behind a legacy of compassionate care and unwavering commitment to her patients, which she approached with the utmost grace and professionalism.

Sharyn attended St. Gabriel’s High School in Hazleton, PA and was a proud alumna of St. Cyril's Academy, Danville, PA, graduating in 1962. She later earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Indiana University (IUPUI) in December 1983. Her educational pursuits were matched only by her steadfast commitment to serving others, an ethos that enveloped her both professionally and personally.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Sharyn was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lebanon, IN, where her spirit of kindness flourished. Her love for the Lord guided her actions and influenced the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Sharyn found joy in a myriad of hobbies that reflected her creative spirit. She delighted in the intricate art of counted-cross stitch, creating pieces that spoke to her artistic flair and providing warmth to the homes of her loved ones. A literary enthusiast, she reveled in the gripping narratives crafted by authors James Patterson and J.D. Robb, particularly enjoying the thrill of The Women’s Murder Club and the adventures featuring Eve Dallas in the Death Series.

Sharyn’s greatest pride and joy stemmed from her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted children: Kimberly (Paul) Roti, Bobby (Nadine Piche) Bonner and Jeffrey (Amy) Bonner. She embraced her role as NANA to Adryanne (Jim) Hollaert, Jeffrey (Casey) Bonner II, Bridget Hayes, Fox Bonner, Maddie Bonner and Jacey Bonner, and cherished her great-grandsons, Dominic Seth Lillian and Eli Daniel Bonner. The bonds Sharyn fostered within her family served as a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she exemplified unconditional love and support to all.

Her family also includes her dear sister, Rosemary Brinkos and her beloved brother, Allyn Evans, along with the loving presence of her God-daughters, Terry Evans and Christine Schlenker, and several other nieces and nephews.

Sharyn is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Anna (Hagelgans) Evans, who shaped the guiding principles of her life through their own love and dedication, her sister in law, Nancy (Delia) Evans, cousins Charles Korpalski and Patti Robledo and nephew James Evans.

As she leaves this earthly realm, Sharyn Ann Bonner is remembered not only for her professional contributions but also for the compassion and strength she instilled in those she loved. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, brightening their lives with cherished memories of laughter, kindness, and unwavering support.
