Serretta (Nortman) Smalbach

Serretta Smalbach,

91, of Indianapolis, passed away November 9, 2023. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 16, 1932 to the late Ben and Rose Nortman. After completing high school, Serretta found her life’s joy in serving her family. Serretta was a member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and had been since the late 1950s.

She is survived by her children, Earl (Christina) Smalbach, Karen (Joel) Londry, and Andrew (Cathy) Smalbach; grandchildren, Max Smalbach and Lily Smalbach; and great-grandchild, Marley Cox-Smalbach. Serretta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Smalbach; and her brothers, Marvin and Arthur Nortman.

Services will be held privately.
