Sergey Hamutov, age 56, passed away on January 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and hard work.

Sergey was born on September 30, 1969, in Zhitomir, Ukraine. From an early age, he carried with him the values that would define his life—dedication to family, loyalty to friends, and pride in honest work. He was, above all, a devoted family man: a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a steady, caring presence for those closest to him.

Known for his warm heart and open spirit, Sergey was a true friend to many. He cherished life and lived it fully, embracing every opportunity to connect with people and create memories. He had a deep love for travel, found joy and creativity in cooking, and took great pride in his carefully curated tequila collection, a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and tradition.

A hardworking man through and through, Sergey deeply respected his trade and approached his work with integrity and pride. He was always willing to lend a hand, offer guidance, or support those around him—never hesitating to help, no matter the circumstance. His generosity of spirit and willingness to give made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Sergey will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. His laughter, wisdom, and presence will be profoundly missed, but the impact of his life will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Khamutov, his devoted partner in life, who stood faithfully by his side through all of life’s journeys. Sergey leaves behind his cherished children, Alexander (Katharine) and Nicole (Michael), and his treasured grandson, Noah, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also lovingly remembered by his parents, Galina and Leonid Khaziniuk, and his brother, Pavel Khaziniuk (Olga, Alex), and his uncle Alex (Elena) along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30th at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Rd, at 1 PM. Burial will follow in the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation North Cemetery.
