Carmel

Sedelle S. Dockery was born on December 14, 1941, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She peacefully passed away on November 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Carmel, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles McKinley Dockery; her mother, Ervine Tingle Sharpe Holbrook; her sister, Rebecca Cheyenne Holbrook Deavers; and her brother, Donald Sharpe.

Sedelle attended Tuscaloosa High School and later pursued studies in Banking and other college courses at local institutions. She married Charles McKinley Dockery on December 15, 1959, and together they raised two daughters:

Marsha Dockery Burroughs (Mike) of Moundville, Alabama, who have three children — Adam Burroughs (Channa), Alex Zimmerman (Wade), and Dr. Ashley Myers (Chris) — and many great-grandchildren.

Lisa Dockery Masuoka (Dr. Howard Masuoka) of Carmel, Indiana, who have two sons, Mark Masuoka and Matthew Masuoka.

Throughout her career, Sedelle worked in various positions, but her dedication and leadership ultimately led her to become a Senior Vice President at the Bank of Tuscaloosa. She managed Human Resources and Compliance, and developed and lead a world travel program for private banking clients.

Outside of work, Sedelle had a passion for travel, fashion, shopping, and gardening. She will be remembered by her family as a remarkable woman — kind, generous, witty, driven, sassy, disciplined, and deeply loving. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family of Sedelle would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Luminary Hospice of Carmel for their compassionate care and support. Your kindness and dedication helped make Sedelle’s final months peaceful and eased her transition with dignity and comfort.
