Rohini Devi Tumuluri passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, in Indianapolis, IN, at the age of 82. Born on September 23, 1943, in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India, Rohini’s life was marked by strength, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
From her birth in Guntur, Rohini’s early years in her native village of Kuchipudi and in Nellore (both in Andhra Pradesh, India) shaped a foundation of resilience and dedication—a spirit she carried with her throughout her lifetime. She cherished the values instilled by her family, especially remembering her beloved mother, (late) Sakuntala Bhagavatula and beloved father, (late) Purnachandra Rao Bhagavatula, whose legacy of wisdom and love guided her path.
She is survived by her husband, Vidyasagar Tumuluri, son, Sudhakar Tumuluri, and daughter, Padma Tumuluri; she is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Avani Tumuluri, Arya Tumuluri, Ashna Tumuluri, Deepak Viswalingam, and Manjula Viswalingam, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Rohini’s unconditional support and nurturing are gifts that will always continue to guide her family.
Throughout her journey (which included her arrival in the United States in 1968), Rohini exemplified kindness, perseverance, and grace. Her presence enriched the lives of friends and family alike, offering wisdom and a steadfast sense of responsibility. Those who knew Rohini remember her as a woman of integrity and quiet strength, never wavering in her commitment to those she loved or to the values she held dear.
Rohini’s journey was marked by deep connection to her roots, enduring love for her family, and a legacy of unwavering dedication. She will be remembered and missed by everyone whose life she touched. Om Sadgati.
