Robert "Morty" Duckworth

December 1, 1958 — February 27, 2024


 Robert “Morty” Duckworth, 65, life-long resident of Indianapolis, passed away February 27, 2024. He was born to the late John V. and Setsuko Shimizu Duckworth in Indianapolis on December 1, 1958.

After graduating from high school, Morty went on to serve in the US Army and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service. After his military service, he worked several jobs, most notably as a tradesman with Custom Concrete.

Morty loved to watch NASCAR and was a huge fan of all types of wrestling. He was a proud member of the VFW and had high regards for the POW/MIA, National League of Families.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kayla Nicole Duckworth; granddaughter, Kassandra Marie; sister, Mary Minnich; several nieces and nephews; Renee and Brad Robinson; his closest friend of over 30 years, John Eurick; along with many other beloved family members.

Morty is preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Lylianna Rose; and sisters, Vicki and Linda Duckworth.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Heart Association  or POW/MIA, mail to Director, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, ATTN:  Comptroller, 2300 Defense Pentagon, Washington, DC  20301-2300.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 15th at 2PM at Crown Hill Columbarium Annex, 725 West 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
