Robert Altmanshofer

October 4, 1942 — June 2, 2026

Robert "Bob" Altmanshofer, age 83, a longtime resident of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on June 2, 2026, in Fishers, Indiana.

He was born on October 4, 1942, and raised in Wall Lake, Iowa. He earned an undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from IUPUI/Purdue University. He dedicated many successful years to RCA, pushing the boundaries of technology, securing several patents. His career and personal life consisted of worldwide travel and many wonderful trips with family and friends.

He was a dependable, loving husband, father, and grandfather who valued family time. He enjoyed bluegrass music, playing cards, and the guitar. He was an avid ham radio operator, widely known by the call sign, WB9HZD.

He is survived by his daughter, Jodi Hubbard (Gary); son, Michael Altmanshofer (Dawn); five grandsons, Cory Lynch (Tammi), Robert Lynch (Kate), Karl Altmanshofer, Chase Hubbard (Jill), and Taylor Hubbard; five great-grandchildren, Avery, Preston, Riley, Ashton, and Jax; sister-in-law, Patricia Miller; niece, Kathy Stienstra (Dave); and cat, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Altmanshofer; parents, Cecilia and Gilbert Altmanshofer; and brother, Don Altmanshofer.

His life will be celebrated in a private family celebration. To honor his multi-year struggle with Lewy Body dementia, memorial gifts may be sent to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
