Paul Nisenshal, born on April 15, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, passed away on April 28, 2025. Paul lived a life dedicated to family, career, and passions that touched the lives of those around him.
He earned a Bachelor's Degree from Tarkio College before obtaining a Master's Degree from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism.
Paul was well-loved for his warmth and humor. He was known for his delightful kugel, which became a cherished holiday staple among family and friends, alongside his skillful preparation of challah. Those who knew him fondly remember the joy he derived from spending quality time with his granddaughter, Eden, and the memories they shared attending Butler games together. Paul was a devoted fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Butler Bulldogs. Paul had a profound appreciation for the arts, often seen ushering at the Palladium and other cultural venues.
Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Ruth, and their children, Andrew (Jill) Nisenshal and Kimberly Nisenshal, and his granddaughter, Eden. Paul will be fondly remembered by his extended family, including his brother-in-law Ralph (Shelley) Samuel, and niece Cindy (Josh) Kalachek.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Benjamin and Helen Nisenshal.
A visitation will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary in Zionsville, IN on May 2, 2025, from 9:15 AM until 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Aftewards, there will be a burial service at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Hospice.
