Muriel Wachter Bluestein

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on September 17, 2023 at the age of 93.  Muriel was a life-long Indianapolis resident.  She was born to Jerome and Lena Wachter on February 25,1930.  She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and attended Indiana University for a time. Muriel was a long-time member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, the Sisterhood, and Broadmoor Country Club.  She was a talented knitter, loved shopping and had been an avid golfer.

In 1952 Muriel married Milton Bluestein.  They were married for 62 years when he passed away in 2014.  Together, Muriel and Milt raised three children.  Muriel is survived by Jerome Bluestein, Richard (Cassie) Bluestein, and Karen Hene, her 6 grandchildren, Farrell, Ashley, Harrison, Joel, Morgan and Brooke, her two great grandchildren, Harper and Remi and her sister, Harriet Ahr.

Graveside services will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 11:00 am in Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to Congregation Beth-El Zedeck.

Shiva will be held at the Olde Mille Clubhouse from 4-8pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, with a minyon at 7:00pm.
