Munawar Paul, born on June 1, 1947, in Punjab, Pakistan, passed away on October 15, 2025. He will be remembered as a dedicated educator and beloved family man. Munawar began his career teaching English at St. Anthony High School in Pakistan, inspiring countless students with his passion for language. In pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future, he moved to the United States, where he transitioned into driving, first as a taxi driver and later as an IndyGo bus driver. His commitment to serving others continued throughout his career, earning him the respect and admiration of those he encountered.
A proud alumnus of Murry College in Sialkot, Pakistan, Munawar’s love for education extended beyond the classroom. He was a multifaceted individual, known for his artistic talents and creative spirit. He found joy in singing, playing the harmonium, and writing poetry. One of his notable works, a poem entitled "Salute to my Soldier," was published, reflecting his talent and deep appreciation for the art of expression.
Munawar’s zest for life was evident in his fondness for long walks and the cherished moments spent with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Parveen Paul, and his daughters, Anila Paul and Monica Paul, as well as his son, Shawn Paul. Together, they will carry forth his legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gulab and Barkat Paul, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Munawar’s life through a series of services on October 20, 2025. Visitation will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary in Carmel, Indiana, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana. Family and friends are then invited to return to the mortuary for a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Munawar Paul’s spirit will forever be cherished by all who had the honor of knowing him. His contributions—both personal and professional—have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, and his memory will continue to resonate in the lives of his loved ones.
