Monna Sue Anderson

March 12, 1934 — September 2, 2022

Our sweet angel, Monna Sue Anderson, peacefully departed this earth on September 2, 2022. She was born March 12, 1934, in Flat Rock, Indiana to Elsie and Emory Conover. She grew up with two sisters, Kay and Patricia and one brother, Keith. She moved to Indianapolis where she made a life and married James Anderson to whom she spent 17 years with and had 2 children, Aaron and Julie. Monna was a great and loving mother to Aaron and Julie. She worked at American Red Ball for 38 years doing licensing and secretarial work. During her tenure, she made many friends along the way.

Monna loved and enjoyed taking care of her family and others. She truly loved cooking for them and was an impeccable baker especially at the holidays. She was always in the kitchen trying out new recipes which always turned out delicious. Along with being known as a great cook and baker, she was also known to be tenacious and have a zest for life. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help her fellow human.

During her life, she was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army for many years where she enjoyed helping and feeding people. One of her greatest loves was spending time and caring for all her grandchildren whom she adored. Whether it be having a picnic with them in the park, pool party at the Holiday Inn or spending time at the mall, you would always find a smile on her face and those around her. Monna had a love for animals and caring for them, especially four special dogs in her life, Loki, Bella, BJ and Coco. They all brought great joy to her. She loved and enjoyed the different seasons while being outdoors. Monna was an avid traveler who was always ready to go anywhere at anytime.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Emory Conover; sister, Patricia Lance; former husband, James Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Anderson.

She leaves behind her daughter, Julie Charles and former son-in-law, Jeff Charles; son, Aaron Anderson; seven grandchildren, Natasha Charles, James Charles, Crystal Anderson, Patrick Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Ima Anderson, and Katie Anderson; eight great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many good friends.
