Melba E. Hicks Heller

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a devoted friend passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 84.  Melba was born in Monticello, Kentucky, on September 25, 1939, to the late James E. and Bertha Ramsey Brammer.  She was a graduate of Indiana University.  

Melba worked as an assistant controller for Hyatt Hotels from 1975 to 1990.  She was a longtime member of Castleview Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her loving husband, Zindel Herbert Heller; her daughter, Sharon E. (Scott) Blair of Indianapolis; sons, Darren R. Hicks of Indianapolis and Glenn D. (Sherry) Hicks of English, IN; stepdaughter, Wendy J. Heller of New York, stepson, Daniel S. Heller of Medellín, Columbia; grandson, Ryan Johnson and great-granddaughter, Lily Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Castleview Church or the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 4-7 pm and on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 9:30 – 10:30 am, at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home, 11411 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077.  Funeral services will begin on the 23rd at 10:30 am.  A burial will follow in Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery.
