Mary Catherine Avery,
83, of Indianapolis, passed away November 2, 2011. She was born May 10, 1928 in Knightstown, IN to Frank and Jane (Allen) Mauck. After graduating from Knightstown High School, Mary worked as a doctor's private secretary in Phoenix, AZ for 10 years, retiring in 1975. She moved to Indianapolis in 1980.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Francis Mauck of Indianapolis, Norma Jo Graham of Virginia Beach, VA, and Amanda Jane (Tom) Jones of California, Maryland; one son, John Gwinn of Indianapolis; sister, Betty Maxwell of Knightstown; and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William R. Gwinn; son, Billy Gwinn; sister, Tippy Richey formerly of Knightstown; and brother, Tom Mauck formerly of Scottsdale, AZ. The family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude, Spring Mill Meadows and Seasons Hospice.
