Martha Jane Thomas 88, passed away March 27th 2012 at Greenwood Meadows with her sons Joseph on the phone and Michael at her side.
Jane was born to Ruth and Harley Pennington in Brownsburg, IN on October 15th 1923. She lived there until graduating from BHS in 1941 and marrying David Gerber. They had three sons, Lanny d, Joseph A, and Michael d who were the love of her life. In addition to raising "her boys" she did all the behind the scenes work for David R Gerber & Sons Funeral Directors Service in Indianapolis.
Jane loved to have a good time and made many friends at Hill Crest County Club, Hoosier AAA, Chesterbrook apts, United Student Aid Fund and Park Regency Apts.
She was preceded in death by parents, sister June Brown, husband Frank Thomas, son Lanny D Gerber, granddaughters Jodi and Jami Gerber, great grandson Gavin Gerber and David R Gerber.
Her feisty and loving personality will be greatly missed by her family, friend's and sons Joseph A (Judy) Gerber and Michael D (Connie) Gerber, Daughter in Law Sharon Props, Grand children, Julie Abernathy, Jacqueline (Brandon) Wong, Ryan (Kay) Gerber, Joseph (Mindy) Gerber and David (Monica) Gerber. Great grand children, Derek Abernathy, Brandon and Kayli Wong, Gage Gerber, Hannah and Hudson Gerber and Ella Gerber
There will be no services.
