Martha Ann Parr

Martha Parr, aged 100, passed away peacefully , leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert and their infant son, Daniel Kevin.

Martha is survived by her children Rev. Carol Parr, Kirk Parr, M.D. (Dr. Sharon Parr) and Kent Parr, Esq. (Rev. Pam Abbey), grandchildren Joshua Murtorff, Mathias Parr, Gabriel Murtorff (Allison), Luke Parr, M.D., Natalie Parr Mead, D.O. (Cory,) and great grandson Cameron Mead.

A graduate of DePauw University, Martha ‘s career was spent counseling children and youth at the Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home and selecting tenants for the Fort Wayne Housing Authority. Martha was kind, generous, humble, patient, heavily involved in community activities everywhere she lived, and above all she loved her church and the people in it. Her life reflected her deep Christian faith and values. She touched countless lives through her quiet strength and compassionate heart.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be publicly announced.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home in Lebanon, Indiana, and to Meridian Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis Indiana.
