Mark Rouse

November 10, 1955 — November 30, 2025

Mark Rouse, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on November 10, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mark's journey was shaped by his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, steadfast and unending love for his family, and lifelong pursuit of art and music.

Mark was a 1974 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Diana Lynn (Glover) Rouse, in 1977. Mark earned his Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Anderson College in 1978. He spent the better part of a decade as an art teacher and swim coach for Hamilton Southeastern Schools. His lifelong love of learning brought him to a career in computer programming. These digital skills gave him the technological prowess to pursue his final (and favorite) career as mixed media digital artist.

Beyond his career, Mark was an artist at heart. His creativity extended into various artistic pursuits that brought him immense fulfillment. Mark found solace and joy in expressing himself through art. As he always said, he painted the things that he loved, which spanned a wide range of interests and subject matters. Mark was declared legally blind in 2015, but through divine intervention and masterful medical care, his sight was restored. This restoration of sight prompted a prolific period of artistic growth, and gave him a platform and testimony to share a message of hope about his healer and savior, Jesus Christ. In addition to his talent as a visual artist, Mark was also a gifted musician and spent four decades leading worship with his wife, Diana. He taught himself to play guitar in his teens, and learned to play piano later in life. Philanthropically, Mark enjoyed being a member of the Hamilton County Artists Association, Noblesville Creates, CCA Gallery, Fishers Arts Council, and the Fishers Historical Society, among other local art organizations.

Mark is fondly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Diana Rouse, as well as their children, Laura (Gerald) Ross, Josh (Sarah) Rouse, Lindsay Rouse and Ashley (Adam) Eaton. Additionally, Mark was a beloved “Papaw” to nine grandchildren- Weston, Camden and Daxton DeVore, Carter and Elliott Rouse, and Judah, Noah, Annie and Margot Eaton. He cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and husband, and was gifted at crafting uniquely special and meaningful relationships with each of his family members. Mark's dedication to his family was evident in the countless memories they created together, and he will be deeply missed by each of them.

He is survived by his mother Martha Rouse and his three siblings, Michael (Billie) Rouse, Marcie (Steve) Abraham, and Matthew (Melody Lowder) Rouse. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Milo Rouse, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Mark’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with his family. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and abounding wisdom will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
