Marilyn Rose Essley, 82, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
She was born in Ligonier, Indiana, on January 7, 1943, to Betty Chiddister (Sprague).
Marilyn was a graduate of Ligonier High School. She then went to work for Kraft Foods in Kendallville where she worked for over 35 years – meeting her husband and making caramels for the world to enjoy.
After her retirement, she spent time with friends, visiting flea markets and other knick knack stores, and traveling with her beloved partner, friend and husband - Larry.
Marilyn was married to Larry J. Essley of Auburn, Indiana for 54 years, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Eric J. (Amy Pomeranz) Essley; grandsons, Maxwell and Phineas Essley; and her sister, Connie Burns (Bruce Burns).
After moving to Zionsville in 2012, to be closer to family, Marilyn would never be very far from her two grandsons, who she loved dearly. Marilyn also loved spending time with her friends in the Brunchie Bunch, painting, and shopping at local establishments.
Visitation will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077, on Thursday, November 13, from 12-2pm followed by the funeral service. Procession to the Zionsville Cemetery for burial will be immediately after.
