Maganlal Jerajbhai Patel

Maganlal Jerajbhai Patel, 87, of Carmel, passed away April 25, 2024. He was born in Vadali, Gujarat, India on April 5, 1937 to the late Jerajbhai and Jivatiben Dudani. As the fourth of seven children, he was a true pioneer and trailblazer. Although he had the opportunity to continue in his father's footsteps of business, he decided to pursue his educational goals. Arriving in 1963, he was the first person in his family to come to the United States. Never deviating from his high principles and always following his heart, he provided the same opportunity to all of his and his wife Kapilaben's siblings as well as countless many others.  

He completed his degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1966.  He began his engineering career at Link-Belt Industries in Indianapolis, Indiana as a metallurgical engineer.  He then completed 30 years at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and volunteering at many different organizations.

His vision, courage and generosity has had a positive impact on innumerable individuals and families and will be felt for many generations to come.

Maganlal is survived by his beloved wife, Kapilaben M. Patel; sons, Mehul M. (Sheel) Patel and Mihir M. (Chandu) Patel; and grandchildren, Raiya M. Patel, Ravi M. Patel, Sahvan M. Patel, and Sia S.Patel.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 1st at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary at 10am.
