Lawrence "Larry" Fennerty

Lawrence “Larry” Fennerty, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away April 7, 2024. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Leslie Lawrence Fennerty and Frances Christen Fennerty on August 29, 1930. Larry graduated from University City High School in 1948. He went on to attend Mizzou where he studied business administration, graduating in 1952. Larry then honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was stationed in Tripoli, Africa as a statistical service officer and was later promoted to Lieutenant. Larry earned a National Defense Service medal. 

After his military service, Larry moved to Indianapolis where he met the love of his life, Julia, through her sister’s fiancé Michael Broanan.  Larry and Julia were married June 1959 and had three children, David, Brian, and Laurel.  He went back to school and earned a degree in Law from Indiana University in 1975 and practiced many years as an attorney.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Abrams Fennerty and son David. He is survived by his children, Brian (Karen), and Laurel Fennerty and his grand children Michael (Megan), Mark, Mitchell, and Ella as well as three great-grand children. Known for his sense of humor, Larry was known to make a crowd laugh. His contagious humor will be sorely missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X on Friday at 11:30 am with the Inurnment to follow.
