With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for his life, we remember Koteswara Rao Sunkara, a devoted husband, loving father, and lifelong farmer whose hands shaped both the land and the lives of those who knew him. Born on March 12, 1950, in Pallikona, India, Koteswara lived a life rooted in humility, hard work, and love. He passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2025, in Carmel, Indiana, at the age of 74.
Koteswara’s life was a beautiful reflection of perseverance and purpose. He poured his heart into the soil he tended, finding joy and fulfillment in every harvest. His love for tractors was more than a fascination it was a symbol of his connection to the land, his work, and the rhythm of nature itself. Through quiet strength and unshakeable resolve, he taught those around him the dignity of labor, the power of patience, and the importance of family.
Koteswara Rao Sunkara is survived by his beloved wife Basava Rani Sunkara; his devoted son Sunil Sunkara, Daughter in law Anupama Movva; Granddaughters, Janani Sunkara and Pavani Sunkara; and his cherished daughter Sreelatha Gogineni, Son in law Siva Prasad Gogineni; Granddaughters, Geetika Gogineni and Tarunika Gogineni. He was a pillar of strength and unconditional love. His legacy lives on through them in their values, their kindness, and their courage.
A visitation to celebrate and honor Koteswara’s life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, located at 11411 N Michigan Rd, Carmel, Indiana 46077. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth and generosity are invited to join in remembering a life so deeply lived.
Though his sudden passing leaves an ache in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing his love, laughter, and lessons will continue to guide us. His journey reminds us that true greatness lies not in wealth or titles, but in the love we give, the work we do with integrity, and the timeliness memories we leave behind.
He will be missed dearly and remembered always with love and gratitude.
