Kenneth Allan Blake

Kenneth A. Blake, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana died on July 25, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent
Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness, surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born in Morris, Illinois on June 1, 1935, Ken graduated from Ottawa Township (IL) High School
and later received both a B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953-1955, and later enjoyed a long career as a
research scientist for DeKalb Agriculture and Miles Laboratories, Inc. (now both part of Bayer).
Ken retired as Vice President-Product Improvement for Environmental Test Systems, Inc. of
Elkhart, Ind. in 2000.
Ken is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty L. (Stevenson) Blake, and their three children: Steven
Blake (Jim) of Palm Springs, Calif.; Stephanie Blake of Bloomington, Ind.; and Jennifer Weaver
(Brian) of Zionsville, Ind., along with three grandchildren.
Ken will be cremated, and a celebration of life held by his family at a later date. The family asks
that anyone desiring to memorialize their love for Ken please do so by way of a tribute gift to
the Alzheimer’s Association.
