With profound sadness, yet with the confident hope found in Jesus Christ, we announce that Katherine Helena (Dixon) Martin, affectionately known as "Katie," entered the presence of her Lord on July 18, 2026. Katie was born on August 9, 1978, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, to James C. and Inez S. (David) Dixon. From an early age, those who knew Katie recognized the warmth of her spirit, the sincerity of her heart, and the quiet strength that would come to define her life.

Katie beautifully reflected unwavering faith, genuine kindness, joyful laughter, and humble compassion. She possessed the rare ability to make every person she encountered feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely loved. Whether through an encouraging conversation, a warm embrace, a listening ear, or an unexpected act of kindness, Katie naturally pointed others toward the love of Christ without ever seeking recognition for herself.

A proud graduate of Pike High School, Katie was honored to be a member of "The Guard," performing dance routines with flags and mock rifle stocks during marching band performances. Those years reflected her enthusiasm, discipline, and love of teamwork. She also treasured her summers working as a lifeguard at Indianapolis city pools, where she enjoyed serving her community while spending time outdoors with children, families, and lifelong friends.

As an adult, Katie embraced the challenge of becoming a fitness competitor, where her disciplined work ethic, graceful poise, and remarkable determination were on full display. The perseverance, integrity, and quiet strength she cultivated through that pursuit became hallmarks of her life, earning the respect of colleagues throughout her career in administrative management and leading to positions of trust, including providing executive secretarial support and serving as a treasurer.

Those same qualities shaped her marriage. Katie believed deeply in her husband, Tony, and joyfully supported him throughout his pursuit of his bachelor's degree. Her steadfast encouragement, patient love, and faithful partnership sustained him through long hours of study, culminating in his achievement of a perfect 4.0 GPA and recognition on the Chancellor's List during the past academic year. She celebrated his accomplishments as though they were her own, finding great joy in watching those she loved succeed.

To know Katie was to know someone whose greatest fulfillment was not found in recognition or achievement but in loving her family, serving others, and faithfully following Christ. Above every accomplishment, Katie treasured her family. She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Anthony "Tony" Martin; her beloved sons, Anthony L. Martin Jr. (Madison) and Ethan J. Martin; her cherished parents, James C. and Inez S. (David) Dixon; her sister, Lauren M. (Phillip) Wilburn; and her father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, Gary and Mah'ni Martin, Ph.D. (abd), with whom she shared a very special bond. Mah'ni affectionately called her "Katiekins," a nickname reserved only for Katie and cherished by them both. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Eleisa Martin, along with many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, treasured friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ whose lives were forever changed by knowing her.

Katie had always hoped for a daughter. While God blessed her with two wonderful sons whom she loved with all her heart, He later fulfilled that longing by bringing Madison into her life. Katie embraced Madison not simply as a daughter-in-law but as the daughter of her heart, often expressing how grateful she was for the precious relationship they shared. Together, her family remained the greatest blessing and deepest joy of her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Charles and Helen Dixon and Olga Hindman, whose examples of faith, love, and family helped shape the remarkable woman Katie became.

Katie's faith was never something she merely professed; it was the way she lived her life. One of the most treasured expressions of that faith occurred at Traders Point Christian Church when, in a spontaneous response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Katie chose to be baptized. In a moment she would forever cherish, her son Ethan had the privilege of baptizing his mother as a beautiful testimony of God's grace and a lasting reflection of the faith and love they shared. Whether caring for her family, encouraging a friend, offering hospitality, or quietly meeting the needs of others, she demonstrated that Christ's love is most powerfully expressed through humble service.

Just two days before her unexpected passing, Katie joyfully signed the paperwork accepting a ministry position at Traders Point Christian Church, marking the beginning of what she believed would be an exciting new chapter of serving the Lord. Although she never had the opportunity to begin that role, those who knew Katie understood that serving others had always been her ministry. She never needed a title or position to live out her faith; she simply loved people well.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Katie's beautiful life on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 South Indianapolis Road, Whitestown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m.

Although Katie's earthly journey ended far sooner than anyone could have imagined, the measure of her life was never found in the number of her years but in the depth of her faith, the generosity of her love, and the countless lives she quietly touched along the way.

She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, steadfast love, joyful laughter, humble service, and complete devotion to her family and to Jesus Christ. While our hearts grieve the loss of her earthly presence, we grieve with hope, holding firmly to the promise of our Savior: "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live." John 11:25

Because of Katie's faith in Christ, we rejoice in the assurance that she has entered the presence of her Lord, where faith has become sight, sorrow has given way to everlasting joy, and she has heard the words every faithful servant longs to hear:

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23

Until that glorious day when we are reunited in Christ, Katie's life will continue to remind us that the greatest legacy a person can leave is not found in titles, accomplishments, or possessions, but in a life faithfully lived for God and lovingly shared with others.
