In Loving Memory of Jon Blackburn

Jon Blackburn, born April 8, 1959, in Findlay, Ohio, to Dr. Robert Blackburn and Virginia Blackburn, lived a life defined by faith, family, hard work, and love for others.

Jon proudly served six years in the United States Navy. During his service, he made the life-changing decision to place his faith in Jesus Christ, a faith that remained at the center of his life. After completing his military service, Jon attended The Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Welding Engineering.

Jon dedicated nearly 31 years of his professional life to Hendrickson Trailer Suspensions before retiring in June. He took great pride in his work and cared deeply for his customers and coworkers.

Above all, Jon was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years; his children, Laura, Joshua, Timothy, and Daniel; their spouses; and six beloved grandchildren. He treasured family dinners, annual beach vacations, game nights, sharing his music with everyone, and cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jon was known for his positive spirit, gratitude, generosity, and ability to see the best in people. He embraced life fully and enjoyed many interests over the years, including breeding ball pythons, flying radio-controlled drones, working out, and following college football. Nearly 31 years ago, Jon and his family found a church home at Eagle Church, where the friendships, worship, teaching, and fellowship became an important part of their lives.

Jon’s family will deeply miss his laughter, hugs, stories, and daily expressions of love. While they mourn his passing, they find comfort in their faith and in the assurance that Jon is now with Jesus Christ. They look forward with hope to the day they will see him again.

The family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support of their family, friends, church community, and all who have been part of Jon’s life.

Memorial and Celebration of Life:

A memorial service and celebration of Jon’s life will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Funeral Home in Zionsville on September 25, 2026. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service following at 11:00 a.m.

A luncheon for family and friends will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Eagle Church in Zionsville.
