Joan Carolyn Larman was born on August 18, 1927 to Dr. Sidney and Alma Aronson. She graduated from high school at Ward Belmont in Nashville, TN and attended college at I.U. where she was runner-up homecoming queen in 1946. She was also a member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority.

Joan was married to Leonard Larman who passed away in 1990. She had two children, Karen Fried and Philip Larman; four grandchildren, Jason Fried, Rachel Fried, Liviya Larman, and Sela Larman; and three great-grandchildren.

She served as Vice President of Brandeis Women's Org and President of Hooverwood Guild. For many years, she served as head of the Hooverwood Raffle. Joan was also a member of Broadmoor Country Club, Art Study Group of IMA, and North Group of Symphony. She enjoyed playing bridge, mah jongg, and going to casinos.

Graveside services will be held at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation North Cemetery, 1300 East 161st Street, on Wednesday, November 26th at 11 AM.
