Jill Sexson

January 29, 1948 — January 30, 2022

Indianapolis

Jill Ann Sexson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert Bant and Annabelle Sexson.  She grew up in the city and graduated from North Central High School in 1966.  Jill attended Brenau University, in Gainesville, Georgia, and was a proud lifelong member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

She left Brenau to begin the adventure of a lifetime in New York City.  Jill’s beautiful voice opened the door to creative opportunities in New York, with both singing and acting engagements.  She flourished in her favorite city for many years, as a tour guide for the United Nations, and had opportunities to work at several famous places, including the iconic Russian Tea Room and Windows on the World Restaurant as a hostess, and at the famous Plaza Hotel.

Jill loved her life in this big, beautiful city, but family ultimately brought her home to Indianapolis in the early 1980’s.  She spent her later years caring for family and being the best-loved aunt to many nieces and nephews, both here in Indiana, Florida, and Georgia.

Her immediate survivors are three brothers, J. Bant II (Carolyn), Robert, and Jack (Mary).  Indianapolis nieces and nephews include Amanda, Angie, Austin, Haylee, Nina, Andrew, Sarah, Jackson, Riley, Bob, Libby, and Jackson.  Her Pensacola, Florida nieces and nephews include Robert, Winston, Mary Nell, J. Bant III, Rhiannon, Joel Bant III, Dalton, Jacob, Austan, Kelly, Cameron, and Gavin. Her nieces and nephews in Savannah, Georgia are Mary Esther, Scott, Hayden, Meredith, Beau, and Mary Jane.

She will be dearly missed by all.
