HERVEY PAUL WEIFORD went to be with his lord and savior on Friday, April 21, 2023, while being treated at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  Hervey was born in Huntington, Indiana, on September 8, 1934, and graduated from Huntington High School in 1953.  Herv spent his entire career working for the Triad/Utrad company as an electronics draftsman.

He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Roberts, in 1954 and had four children.  Losing both his son and daughter in their infancy was more than the marriage could bear and it ended in 1963.  Luckily, he thereafter met the love of his life, Barbara Mae Bentley, they were united in love on April 18, 1970, and welcomed another daughter in 1975.  Herv and Barb celebrated 52+ years of love and devotion until Barb’s untimely passing on March 3, 2023.

Hervey was dedicated to his family, friends and church, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  Herv was especially devoted to perfecting his skills and gamesmanship in both golf and bowling, for which he received many trophies and recognition from his peers.  He also enjoyed vacationing with friends and family was always available for a game of cards, dominoes, and almost any board games that his family wanted to play.  Hervey most notably enjoyed the many hours spent with Barb working on the numerous jigsaw puzzles they completed together.

Hervey is survived by his beloved family: daughter Kelley Weiford Ahlersmeyer (Nick) and grandson Elliott Marley Ahlersmeyer, Ft. Wayne; daughter Danica Weiford Winter (Pete), Tallahassee, FL; and daughter Deborah Weiford Raynes, Tacoma, WA.  He was preceded in death by his father Paul H. Weiford and mother Margaret Loman Weiford; sisters Margaret Weiford Draper and Carolyn Weiford Shaw; infant son Derek Weiford and infant daughter Denice Weiford; and special pup and loving companion Benny.

There will be a celebration of life service at St. Matthews Lutheran Church,  2305 Goshen Road, Ft.
