Herman Lawrence

Herman Lawrence, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Goodyear, Arizona, where he had lived since 1997. Herman was born on September 1, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Sam and Olga Lawrence. He graduated from Shortridge High School in 1954 and was a member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation.

Herman is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Diane Lawrence; children, Rick Lawrence (Katherine Lawrence), Michelle Stele (Jason Stele), and Susan Voglesong (Travis Voglesong); and his cherished grandchildren, Alison, Rebekkah, Erika, Jacob, Brayden, Josslyn, Genevieve, and Charlotte.

Herman loved travelling with his wife and friends, playing golf, taking his dog to the park, and playing poker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ben.

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home,11411 N. Michigan Road, with burial to follow at IHC North Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 am.

Herman’s kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local humane society.
