Gregory P. Parker

Gregory “Greg” P. Parker, age 78, passed away on July 24, 2026, in Whitestown, Indiana, surrounded by his family. Born on March 4, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Angeline Parker. Greg was a deeply social person who never met a stranger; he loved good conversation, good company, and the simple joy of being surrounded by people. Always ready to tell a joke, his humor brought joy to everyone around him and his ability to make others laugh became one of his most cherished traits. Greg proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Greg spent many years working alongside his father in the family steel business. In 1977, he married Sandra Jorgenson in South Holland, Illinois where they welcomed their two daughters. In 1983, the family business relocated from Chicago, Illinois, to Wausaukee, Wisconsin, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Greg was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 150 in Wausaukee and he enjoyed many years as a member of the Lake Noquebay Sportsman's Club. After retiring, Greg and Sandy moved to Bradenton, Florida. In 2017, they settled in Whitestown, Indiana, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandy Parker; his daughters Lindsay (Travis) Berg and Leslie Parker; and his beloved grandsons, Sean and Seth Berg, all of Zionsville, Indiana. He is also survived by his sister and brother‑in‑law, Luranne and Jeffery Betts of Marinette, Wisconsin, along with nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Angeline Parker, his brother, Reginald Parker and his cherished grandcats, Ooteenie and JoJo.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am with Mass beginning at 11:00am on Monday, August 3, 2026, held at St. Alphonsus Liguori Roman Catholic Church, 1870 West Oak Street, Zionsville, Indiana. Burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or a charity of your choice in Greg’s name.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Paradigm Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Mulherin and staff, Dr. Liebross and staff, Witham Anson lab and imaging staff and Suburban Home Health for their exceptional care, compassion, and support. Their kindness brought comfort to Greg and to Sandy during this difficult time. The family deeply appreciates the prayers, support, and kindness offered by family and friends throughout this time.

Greg’s presence will be deeply missed. As his loved ones grieve his loss, they hold close the many memories he leaves behind—each one a reflection of a life lived with humor, humility, love, and dignity.
