Gaye A Brown, 81, of Zionsville, passed away March 10, 2024. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana on August 5, 1942 to the late William and Clementine Jones. Gaye was a 1960 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis. After graduation, she started on her long and varied business career which included owning a dry cleaning business in Hamilton County, working as an office manager at a law firm, and finally assisting her husband, Marvin Brown, in the family business, M & M Muffler and Automotive Services, where she continued to work until her last hospitalization.
Gaye was a person who knew everyone she met and never met a stranger, as they soon became her friends. Gaye loved her animals, whether it was her horses, chickens, goats, pigs, and, of course her dogs. She loved to be around them and cherished her time with each and every animal.
Even as Gaye’s health declined in the past few years, she enjoyed her casino trips to Biloxi, Mississippi and Laughlin, Nevada. Those trips truly allowed her to unwind.
Gaye was deeply religious. She was a member of Zionsville Fellowship and enjoyed assisting in delivering Meals on Wheels to individuals in need.
Gaye is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin C. Brown, with whom she recently celebrated their 36th anniversary; son, Bill (Dani) Mitchell; grandchildren, Anthony Mitchell and Cory (Shaunda) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Peyton and Jaden; several nieces and nephews; and her puppies, Gizmo and Chewy. Gaye was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Samuel K. Jones and Allen Jones.
Services will be held privately with inurnment at Lincoln Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
