Evelyn J. Johnson

Evelyn Johnson passed away on December 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elmer A. Johnson; son, Daniel, and son, James. Her survivors include her daughter, Caroll; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was born in Evanston, Illinois, moving to Indianapolis in 1990. She enjoyed doll collecting and restoration. She was a member of the Windy City Doll Club in Chicago and the Indianapolis Doll Circle. Evelyn was a volunteer at St. Vincent's Hospital among other charitable endeavors over the years.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to travel and spend time with family. Her generous and good natured spirit will be missed.

A family service will be held in Illinois in 2017 so she may be at rest with Elmer. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to alzheimers.org or woundedwarriorproject.org.
