Eric T. Sexton, 48, of Indianapolis, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2022.
He was born December 6, 1973, in Marion, Indiana to Ronald Sexton and Olga (Garza) Sexton.
After graduating from Marion High School, Eric earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and later received an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Eric was an Indianapolis resident most of his adult life. He began his career at Visteon Automotive, where he worked for about nine years in a variety of positions. Eric spent the last 13 years of his career at Amtrak, serving as Assistant Superintendent the majority of that time.
Eric touched many lives through his kind, loving and cheerful spirit. He enjoyed making life fun, and he liked spreading that joy to others. He was a Batman enthusiast, delighting in all-things caped crusader. He developed skills in martial arts, working toward a black belt in taekwondo. Without a doubt, Eric’s favorite thing was being a father to his son, Graham, watching him play sports and enjoying the latest superhero movies and other “bro-time” together.
Eric was preceded in death by his father Ronald Sexton and his step-father Leonard Durieux. He is survived by his son Graham Sexton, mother Olga (Garza) Durieux, sister Michelle (Joe) Brinker, half-sister Sherri (Rob) May, niece Casey Marin, nephew Christian Marin, friend and former spouse Kelly Kuner-Sexton, best friend Carl Daniels and family, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and his faithful goldendoodle Pepper.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on August 6, 2022, from 1-5 p.m. at The Tinker House, 1101 E. 16th St. Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN. Dress comfortably and come with a story.
