Emily Peltz Smith
93 years of age, life resident of Indianapolis, passed away February 15, 2016.
Emily was born on October 16, 1922 to Philip and Minnie Peltz. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School. Following high school, she worked at Dayan's Department Store and later, part time at Robert's downtown location.
She was an active life member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck and a volunteer with Children's Asthma Research Institute Hospital.
In 1945, she married Philip Smith and together they raised their three beloved daughters. Philip passed away in 2007.
Survivors include their three daughters, Linda(Jeff) Eshowsky, Judy (Fred) Counts and Susan (Moe) Meshulam; grandchildren, Sheri (Nick) Kroscher, Dr. Scott (Lissa) Eshowsky, Lindsay (Reed) Peglow, Dr. Ryan Meshulam, Dr. Eric (Dr.Sara) Meshulam; and six great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Graveside funeral services will be on Friday, February 19, 2016 in Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
